 Dos in Group Discussion :

1)   Initiate the discussion if you know the topic properly.

2)   Support your points with facts and figures. You should support
your opinion by giving examples.

3)Listen to others with total
attention, understand their views and respect their opinions.

4)   Give opportunity to others who are not able to speak. Encourage
others to speak.

5) If the
discussion goes in wrong direction, bring it on proper track.

6) If
there is hot communication among the participants, add the element of humour
and in this way handle the situation.

7) Use
proper and effective body language.

8) Keep
eye contacts with every participant and put smile on your face while speaking.

9) Speak
with proper speed, accent and tone.

10) Stick to
the point while speaking.

11) Use
clear and grammatically correct sentences.

12) Say
“Thank you” at the end of your discussion.


Don’ts in Group Discussion :

1)
Do not speak first if you don’t know the topic properly.

2)
Do not interrupt when other speakers are speaking.

3)
Do not speak loudly only to prove your point.

4)
Do not make wild and unfair body movements and gestures.

5)
Do not use aggressive body language.

6)
Do not use slang or abusive language during the discussion.

7)
Do not bluff. Do not quote and provide incorrect information or figures.

8) Do not stand up while discussing your point/s.

9)
Do not disrespect others.

10)
Do not speak for long time.

11)
Do not use unclear and vague sentences.
