Diagonal Communication :
Diagonal Communication is also called as Crosswise Communication.
It takes place between a senior worker from one department and a junior worker
in another department. It meets the needs not covered by vertical or horizontal
communication. It is formal communication. Conferences, seminars, workshops,
feedbacks, suggestions, etc. are the examples of Diagonal Communication.
Advantages of Diagonal
Communication :
i) It develops better
understanding between seniors and juniors.
ii) It is useful for
changing needs of business.
iii) Two way process of communication takes place
in it.
Disadvantages of
Diagonal Communication :
i) Different opinions may create conflict and groups.
ii)
It may overlook organisation’s interest.
iii)
The participants cannot communicate frankly as they do not know
each others properly.
