Verb Forms
There
are five forms of verb:
1) Base Form:
e.g Write
Use: Base form is used in Simple Present Tense
Example:
I learn English.
2) -S
Form:

e.g. writes
Use: ‘-S Form’ also is used in Simple Present
Tense.

He learns English.
3) -ing
Form:

e.g. writing.
Use: ‘-ing Form’ is used in Continuous and Perfect Continuous Tenses.
I am learning English.
I had been learning English.
I had been learning English.
4) Past
Form/ed1:
Form/ed1:
e.g. Wrote.
Use– Past Form is also known as ‘-ed-1’. It is used in Simple Past Tense.
Example:
I learned English.
5) Past
Participle/ed2:
Participle/ed2:
e.g. Written.
Use- Past Participle is also known as ‘-ed-2’. It is
used in Perfect Tenses and Passive Voice.
